I rarely review things but having just finished watching The Expanse I feel I must comment.The books were good and this TV series does credit to the large ideas in the books. Certainly worth watching. But my reason for writing this is to praise the excellent casting and acting. In particular, three wonderful actors. Dominique Tipper as Naomi Nagata; Frankie Adams (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frankie_Adams) ) as Robert Draper; and Cara Gee (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cara_Gee ) as Camina Drummer. Well worth watching to see how they raise the level for the series, as it progresses. Recently I was privileged to meet my favourite Science Fiction author. Julie Czerneda ( https://czerneda.com/ ) visited our local library and gave a presentation about her latest book. During her talk on world building I told her that I’ve never read any author as good as her at world building. Especially in her Stratification Series of books. |
